A hermenêutica bíblica pentecostal de Gunnar Vingren na obra ‘O Tabernáculo e suas lições’

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the following work: "The Tabernacle and Its Lessons", whose authorship belongs to Gunnar Vingren, an important historical figure of the brazilian pentecostal movement, to identify and classify the author's biblical interpretation and to which historical period of pentecostal hermeneutics it refers. The research will give space to the history of pentecostal hermeneutics and will present how pentecostals interpreted the Bible from the beginning of the movement to the present day. In connection with the history of interpretation, the research relates the period in which the pioneers of pentecostalism arrived on brazilian soil and the story of how they multiplied, quickly becoming the majority among evangelicals in the country. In an attempt to understand how these pentecostals interpret the Bible and see the world, it was necessary to understand the origin of the biblical interpretation of the pioneer of brazilian pentecostalism in a rare work of his own authorship. With this, the research resulted in classifying Gunnar Vingren biblical interpretation to the pre-modern period of pentecostal hermeneutics, where such people made a more literal reading of the Bible, not very concerned with interpretive methods and believed that every experience described in the book was for the current days.
